Polaris, Alpha Ursae Minoris,
guiding light for many a weary traveler,
Pole Star, beacon of hope.
So many lost turn to you for direction,
as
never failing,
you ever point to the True North.
And yet,
And yet,
And yet…
I wonder –
As a mother often does –
I wonder –
Does the North Star,
spinning in the night sky,
ever weary?
Does she ever feel the gravity,
the weight,
the pull,
the heaviness?
of being forever in one place?
Stuck.
Never to deviate –
even for one moment –
from her preordained position.
